State Convention Welcome Party

Brother Knights,

The party at Discovery Green is going to be a big blowout!  Its only $5.00 per person and we are having international food catered in.  There will be food treats from countries all over the globe.  There will be Adult beverages and soft drinks, Entertainment acts, Dancing on a dance floor, and all kinds of music.  All it takes is your K of C membership card and $5.00 to get in and enjoy the fun.  You will get to meet Knights from all over the State and our Archdiocese.
You don't have to be attending the State Convention to join in on the fun at the Welcome Party.  The worst case scenario is you can always wonder over to Minute Maid Park and watch the Astros at the Catholic Family Day at the Ballpark if you decide the free food and drink is not to your liking.
A perfect day would be to play in the State Convention golf tournament in the morning and celebrate your team's win at the Welcome Party that night.
                See you there.

Requesting Funds for Eagle Project

REMINDER

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

To whom it may concern:
My name is Luis Fernando Sanchez.  I live in Richmond, TX and attend Travis High School.  I began my scouting adventure at age 6 with the Cub Scouts, and at 10 moved up to Boy Scouts.  I am now a Life Scout with Troop 1002 in Richmond, Texas having completed 33 merit badges, held several positions of responsibilities, including Senior Patrol Leader, and been very active with the growth of our troop and its activities.  My long journey is now at the point where I am working toward earning the highest and most honored rank in Scouting, that of Eagle Scout.

To earn the Eagle rank I must plan, develop, and provide leadership to others in a service project helpful to the community.  For my Eagle Scout Project, I have chosen to help Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond Texas.  The Church is in need of an outside area where parishioners can pray and mediate while outside, a Prayer Garden between the Church and the Family Life Center next to the center where there is currently of statue of Jesus will be constructed.  The Prayer Garden will be in the shape of a half circle with two benches on each side will be placed allowing people to sit and pray.  The Garden will be dedicated in memory of the unborn babies

It is a big project that will require many hours of labor and approximately $3000 in materials.  As part of my project, I am required to raise funds for the materials necessary for the construction of this project.  Any financial assistance you can offer to help me achieve my goal of completing this project will be greatly appreciated.  No amount is too small, and in the unlikely event any funds remain after the project is finished, they will go directly to the church.

I have set up a GoFundMe account so donations can be made online using the following web address https://www.gofundme.com/luis-f-boy-scout-eagle-project.  If you prefer to mail a check, please make check payable to Luis Sanchez with Eagle Scout Project on the Memo Line.  As always, thank you for your time and consideration.  Please share with anyone that might also be interested in the project.
