Council Slate of Officers - 2016-2017 Following is the slate of Officers for our 2016-2017 Year that starts July 1, 2016. We will vote on this slate at the May 24th Business Meeting.
Other candidates can be added to the slate before the 24th by
contacting Mark Stryk (mark.stryk@trendmakerhomes.com) or nominationmade
at the Business meeting. Please attend on the 24th if at all possible and let your voice for officers be heard. Meeting will be held in Family Life Center, at same timesGrand Knight - David Hobson (past DGK) Deputy GK - John Burkett (past Advocate) Chancellor - Raul DeLeon Recorder - Kevin Eaves Treasurer - Larry Stryk Advocate - Ken Kendricks (PGK & PFN recent transfer in) Warden - Don Hoeveler Inside Guard - James Waite Outside Guard - Karl Hennings (& Program Director) Trustees - Mark Stryk, Mike Appling, & Howard Harbes Note the change in previous Trustee listing. Marty Gigula will be devoting all of his time to Council membership and Mike Appling, a transfer in and PGK and PFN) will take Marty's Trustee position. Also note that Rickey Constantine will fill in a Council Director position and I will fill his Trustee position. |
Thanks for your Service Thanks
to DGK David Hobson and Brothers Karl Hennings, Don Hoeveler, Kevin
Eaves for assistance in the Adopt a Highway Trash Pick Up along FM359 on
Saturday, 5/21. We completed the run in a little under 2 hours
and ended up with 11 bags of trash but no one came up with any treasures
as has been experienced in the past and rubber boots were advisable for
covering the unmowed areas. Hope to see you assisting in the 3Q
activity that has yet to be scheduled. Also
on Saturday the above Knights relocated over to Parishioner Barbara
Gritczek's yard for a start at the clean up. The heat and humidity
really drained the enthusiasm of the work crew. Work was directed
at the front yard on this visit and about 1/4th of the front yard
work was completed after about 2 hours time. Still a good 10-12
hours of work on Mrs. Gritczek's clean up wish list that will have to be
scheduled out in time. With the summer heat upon us this may have
to be scheduled out of 3-4 work days. |
Franciscan Brother Cliff Hennings' Ordination One
of our own Parishioners, Franciscan Brother Cliff Hennings, will be
Ordained into the Priesthood on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Saint Clement
Catholic Church (4536 Vine Street; Cincinnati, Ohio) at 10:00AM.
Br. Cliff's 1st Mass will be celebrated on June 12, 2016 at St Monica-St
George also in Cincinnati at 10:30AM. Br. Cliff is a son of
Brother Knight Karl and Susan Hennings.For
us stay-cationers, Br. Cliff will celebrate Mass at Sacred Heart in
Richmond at the 11:30AM Mass on June 19th, Father's Day. A
reception will follow. Check the church bulletin for details. |
Service Opportunities Tue, May 24th - Council Business Meeting - 6:45 Social / 7:30 Meeting - FLC
- PGK Rickey Constantine will be serving Chicken Spaghetti for the meal
and a vote will be taken on the new slate of officers for the
council. Please come and share your inputs on the future of the
council. NOTE LOCATION CHANGE - FAMILY LIFE CENTER Sat, May 28th - Feast of Corpus Christi - SH Procession & Council Corp Communion Fr
Michael is requesting a Feast of Corpus Christi Procession on Sat May
28th prior to the Sat Vigil with the procession starting at
4:00PM. He has asked for a 4th Degree Turnout and the Council
Corporate Communion will be at the Sat Vigil. Please plan to
attend in Regalia or Social Tux if you are a 4th Degree Knight and in
Council Gear if you are not 4th Degree. Please try to arrive
by 3:15 if you are processing with 4th Degree Assembly and by 3:30 if
you are attending for Council. Parking will be changed with streets
blocked off, so please be flexible. Sat/Sun, June 4th & 5th - Council BBQ Prep and Cook -
Set time on your calendar for assisting with the BBQ cook - get with
Greg Nemec (713-416-2983 or greg@southwesttexas.com) to see where and
when he needs help. If you don't BBQ, how about assisting with
sales after Sunday morning masses. Thanks for any assistance you can offer. Please look at your calendar and please schedule family and/or your time to support the Parish and Council events.
