Upcoming Expenditure Vote
You may be aware that St Joseph Abbey in Louisiana (where Sacred Heart Seminarians David Mannino and Justin Perry attend) was flooded with about 4 feet of water in mid March.   The Abbey does not have insurance to rebuild and is looking for financial assistance to get the Seminary back in order.

As a result of the outstanding support from Sacred Heart Parish to the 40 Cans for Lent program that just concluded, the Council will be reimbursed by Supreme $500 for the over 3 TONS of product delivered to Helping Hands.  Since this income was not included in the budget, a motion was made and passed at the March 22nd Business meeting to tithe this $500 to the Abbey.  That $500 check was mailed March 23rd to the St Joseph Flood Relief Fund.

In addition, a
motion was made in the March 22nd Business Meeting for the Council match this $500 donation for St Joseph Abbey Flood Relief.
Since this worthy expenditure was not in the 2015-2016 Council Budget, a Council vote will be held at the April 26th Council Business meeting seeking Council approval of this motion.

Revenue from the Lenten Fish Frys exceeded forecast and these funds will be used to support this expenditure.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call, e-mail, or catch me at daily or weekend mass.  Your attendance at the vote is requested and welcome.

Your prayers for the Seminarians and the Abbey are needed and always appreciated.

Thanks for your Support
Flower Bed Project - Thanks for the support with finishing flower beds from the Parish work day on the left side of the steps of the Church.  Showing up on Thursday and Friday for removing grass were Brothers Vince Mannino and Larry Stryk with Larry's daughter Jill and her boyfriend Dan.  Luckily on Sat a few more joined in: Brothers Larry Stryk, Kevin Eaves, Vince Mannino, and Karl Hennings with support from Jill Stryk, Dan (Jill's boyfriend), Francis Rosprin, Laura Boehm, Kathy Carter, and even Fr Michael pitched a few shovels of dirt. finished off the dirt and plant mving. Thanks to Brothers Larry Stryk, Kevin Eaves, and Art Hausler for all the planning and/or hard work.
Got lots of positive inputs at Mass this morning - SH parishioners are impressed

Father Daughter Tahiti Sunset Dance - PGK Rickey Constantine and Family (wife - Charlotte, daughters Ann and Beth, and son Tony) with help from Brothers Chris Haskins, Karl Hennings, DGK David Hobson, Mark Stryk, and Roy Cerrillo.  The ladies from SSMM outdid themselves in assisting in the decorating and food.  All responses from Dad's and Daughters were very positive and they all look forward to doing it again next year.  I am sure there were some dads/granddads with aches on Sunday morning.
 Service Opportunities
Sat/Sun - Apr 30 - May 1 KC BBQ Prep & Cook - Brother Greg Nemec will be looking for assistance with the May Cook. The old double barrel pit is now a Single Long Barrel Pit so rack space should not be an issue for the cooks.  Due to member changes, all teams are invited to assist with the cooking this month.  Please give Brother Greg (713-416-2983) a shout if you can assist if he doesn't call you.

Sat, May 14th - Yard Clean-up w/ Sacred Heart Faith Formation Teens - This is a follow up to the project that was started late last year for Parishioner Vlasta Trahan.   More details will come as soon as they are shared with me.   Come and show the youth that the Knights at Sacred Heart support them and our parishioners.

Sat, May 28th -Feast of Corpus Christi - Sacred Heart Parade - Corp Communion
Fr Michael is requesting a Feast of Corpus Christi Parade on Sat May 28th prior to the Sat Vigil with the parade starting at 4:00PM.  He has asked for a 4th Degree Turnout and due to this we are moving the Council Corporate Communion to the Sat Vigil.  Please plan to attend in Regalia or Social Tux if you are a 4th Degree Knight and in Council Gear if you are not 4th Degree.   More details will be provided as they are released.

Please look at your calendar and please schedule family and/or your time to support the Parish and Council events.
