Upcoming Expenditure Vote
You may be aware that St Joseph Abbey in Louisiana (where Sacred Heart Seminarians David Mannino and Justin Perry attend) was flooded with about 4 feet of water in mid March.   The Abbey does not have insurance to rebuild and is looking for financial assistance to get the Seminary back in order.

As a result of the outstanding support from Sacred Heart Parish to the 40 Cans for Lent program that just concluded, the Council will be re-imbursed by Supreme $500 for the over 3 TONS of product delivered to Helping Hands.  Since this income was not included in the budget, a motion was made and passed at the March 22nd Business meeting to tithe this $500 to the Abbey.  That $500 check was mailed March 23rd to the St Joseph Flood Relief Fund.

In addition, a
motion was made in the March 22nd Business Meeting for the Council to match this $500 donation for St Joseph Abbey Flood Relief.  Since this worthy expenditure was not in the 2015-2016 Council Budget, a Council vote will be held at the April 26th Council Business meeting seeking Council approval of this motion.

Revenue from the Lenten Fish Frys exceeded forecast and these funds will be used to support this expenditure.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call, e-mail, or catch me at daily or weekend mass.  Your attendance at the vote is requested and welcome.

Your prayers for the Seminarians and the Abbey are needed and always appreciated.

Thanks for your Support
Ladies Appreciation Night - 2016   WOW - The Ladies had a ball at their Night Out and it was all due to the outstanding efforts of each and every Brother who joined in to assist.  Brother Mark Stryk provided "Guitar Man" instrumentals to favorites of all in attendance - of course the wine served only added to the exuberance of the attendees.  I have heard indications that it was "The Best Ever" from several sources.

So the bar is set high but let's see if we can blow thru this year's festivities in next year's event.  Thanks to Brothers Larry Stryk and Art Hausler for the planning and menu and to all of Brother Knight Waiters and Wine Stewards for their outstanding efforts. You guys are all amazing - thanks for serving our ladies.

Sacred Heart / Knights Baby Shower for PRMC -  Sacred Heart Parishoners  poured out their hearts (and wallets) and loaded up the trailer with shower gift items for the PRMC of Fort Bend County.  In addition there was $1,375 in checks and cash that was donated.  This parish's ability to share with our community is overwhelming and greatly appreciated by the receiving organizations.  I am working on a challenge situation with Holy Rosary and a few other Parishes/churches in the community and hope to see them rise to the occasion.   Thanks to Brothers Karl Hennings and DGK David Hobson for managing this event while I attended a Volley ball tournament that my granddaughter was participating in.

Sat Apr 23rd - Father Daughter Dance - FLC -
PGK Rickey Constantine and his team will transform the FLC gym into a Tahiti Paradise for the Father Daughter Dance that will start at 7:00PM.  All are welcome so invite your neighbors, family, friends and anyone to the occasion.  The price is right at $20 per father with tickets on sale after all masses or you can call Brother Rickey (713-402-8169).  The Council will provide atmosphere, music, and a photo memory for each father.

May 28th -Feast of Corpus Christi - Sacred Heart Parade - Corp Communion
Fr Michael is requesting a Feast of Corpus Christi Parade on Sat May 28th prior to the Sat Vigil at 5:30.  He has asked for a 4th Degree Turnout and due to this we are moving the Council Corporate Communion to the Sat Vigil.  Please plan to attend in Regalia or Social Tux if you are a 4th Degree Knight and in Council Gear if you are not 4th Degree.   More details will be provided as they are released.
