Mardi Gras Pancake Cook - 9 Feb 2016 As noted above, the 9 Feb Regular Council Meeting is cancelled with
all efforts from the Council directed at supporting a Mardi Gras
Pancake Cook for Sacred Heart Parish. Need assistance with serving
and clearing tables as people come in and go. Ususally a pretty
good crowd shows up and this is a great time to show the Parish that the
Knights can "Git 'er Dun" We will start cooking and preparation
about 4:00PM but show up when you can to allow the early shows a break
in the action- we will run this until about 8:00PM with clean up. Call Brother Art Hausler (281-633-1643) if you can assist. Hope to see you there. |
Basketball Free Throw Contest - Results On January 20th, Brother Chris Haskins along with support from DGK David Hobson and PGK Rickey Constantine coordinated
the Council Basketball Free Throw contest. Out of the 30 participants
on the 20th, 8 contestants progressed to the District Contest on Feb
6th. Out of the 8 winners from Sacred Heart, 6 will progress to
the Archdiocese contest on Feb 13th in Houston. Good Luck to
all of the Sacred Heart Contestants. |
Parish Grounds Dress up - In Process On
Saturday Feb 6th, Brother Kevin Eaves took the lead on dressing up the
flower bed in front of the CCE building. Brother Knights assisting
Kevin were Larry Stryk, Leo Poszywak, and Art Hausler. Great job
of adding a border to the flower bed, enlarging and building up the bed,
and replacing the plants. Really adds to the appearance of that
entrance. Thank these guys when you see them and this is an
ongoing project so you have a chance to join in. Let Brother Kevin
know if you would like to share your talents. |
FEB BBQ/Brisket Cook - THANKS FOR SUPPORT WOW
- what great support from the Council for the Brisket and BBQ Cook this
weekend. SK Brother Greg Nemec and crew blew this one out of the
water. On Friday night assisting SK Greg were SK Tony Trevino,
Brother Raul Martinez and son Michael, and new brother Knight Terry
Beavers seasoned the Briskets for for cooking. Showing up early on
Saturday morning to get the briskets on the pit and pick up birdsand
ribs were Brothers: DGK David Hobson (breakfast cook), Greg Nemec, Tony
Trevino, Leonard Moreno(pit), Roy Brents(pit), Raul Martinez, Raul
DeLeon, James Silva, James Silva Jr, and Jerry Waite (Bean Prep), with
brothers Art Hausler and Larry Stryk cooking the ribs later in the
day. Sunday was overwheming with the Council support from Brothers
Greg Nemec, Tony Trevino(Breakfast Cook and more), Leonard Moreno(pit),
Jerry Veazey(pit), Michael Cutbirth(pit), Jerry Waite, James Waite,
Larry Stryk, Terry Beavers, Don Hoeveler, George Boyum, Michael Spiech,
Jerry VanCastern, Alfred Cortez, Butch Stoeltje, Mike Appling, Jaime
Hernandez,Ray Camel, Andy Oldnixon, Vince Ruiz, Jim Mensay, and Art
Hausler. I am heartily sorry if I left anyone out who assisted -
the support was truly overwhelming. THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR UNSELFISH SUPPORT OF THE COUNCIL AND PARISH. |
February Service Opportunities Fri, Feb 12th, Lenten Fish Fry #1 - Sacred Heart FLC -
Serving does not start until about 3:30PM (after 3PM Stations in the
Chapel) but there is lots of help needed to preparation that will start
at about 12:30PM. If you can't make the early start come and share
an hour or two with you Brother Knights - the more help we get, the
easier it is for everyone. Call Brother DGK David Hobson (832-755-8239) to offer your support.
