Thanks for your Service Nativity Yard Art Sales - From Brother Larry Stryk - Thanks
to all who participated in our "Nativity" fundraiser. Special thanks to
FS Arthur Hausler, GK Howard Harbes, and Recorder Kevin Eaves for all
they did. Also, thanks to the following: Tony Trevino, James Waite,
Jerry Waite, George Boyum, Marty Gibula, and David Hobson. We have
sold every item and could have easily sold quite a few more. - Larry GK Note - Thanks to Brother Larry for taking the lead on this important fundraiser for the Council - Great Job of keeping us on task and successful completion of the project Miracle on Morton Street - Beautiful Day on Sat and
lots of activity. Thanks to Brothers Larry Stryk and Art Hausler
for chairing this successful event and great support from Brothers
Rickey Constantine, Raul Deleon, Kevin Eaves, Craig Braden, Dan
Hoeveler, Greg Nemec, Mike Appling, James Silva, James Silva Jr, Marty
Gibula, George Boyum, Mark Stryk, DGK David Hobson,and GK Howard Harbes. Sales were very brisk and the fellowship was great. Council BBQ Cook - Another beautiful day and A SELL OUT WEEKEND. Thanks
to Brother Greg Nemec for taking the lead on this cook but his pit help
from Brothers Leonard Moreno, Jaime (Bean Man) Hernandez, and Alfred
Cortez turned out some great food. Brother Art Hausler burned the
Ribs on Sat. Sales help came from Butch Stoeltje, Bernie Lednicky, Don
Hoeveler, Paul Metcalf, Larry Stryk, Art Hausler, and GK Howard Harbes. The accolades continue to come for all the food. Great Job guys. |
December Service Opportunities Thursday, Dec 10th, Council Christmas Party - Sacred
Heart Family Life Center- Santa and Mrs Claus will be available from
6:30 - 7:00pm to visit with the kids.The meal will start at 7pm followed
by a short program. Plans are to be over by 8:30 so, please bring the
family! Council
will provide the meat and families are asked to bring a covered dish or
desert. Please bring a monetary gift or baby items (diapers,
lotion, etc.) that will be given to the Pregnancy Resource Medical
Center to support their clients. Please let us know if you are attending and how many. This way we will be sure to have enough food for everyone. Degree Exemplification sign in will start at 7:15AM in St. Theresa
School Gym with 1st Degree starting at 8:00AM and 2nd/3rd Degree
commencing at 10:00AM. The 3rd Degree should be completed by
12:30-1:00PM. A complimentary luncheon for candidates will be
served (with a nominal charge for others) after the completion of the
3rd Degree exemplifications. Contact PGK Marty Gibula (713-319-4658) if
you would like to attend so paperwork can be started. Sun, Dec 20th- VA Hospital Visitation - Meet at Sacred Heart parking lot by the FLC at 7:15AM and we will carpool to the VA Hospital. Will visit with hospitalized veterans and go to mass at 10:00AM in the VA Hospital Chapel. Should be back at Sacred Heart by 12:00 Noon. Hope to see you with us. Eucharistic Adoration - Sacred Heart Chapel Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays in
the Chapel. The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the
Devine Mercy Chaplet. All are invited and any time spent will
offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church,
and the Holy Catholic Church. At the close of the Adoration time,
the Devine Mercy Chaplet is once more recited along with a benediction
that is supported by Fathers Michael and/or Thomas. Please consider
committing to a specific time slot every week. There are
forms at the back of the Church and Chapel to sign up. A
committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration. |
Pro Life Activities Pro-Life Ace Wings - Viewing
the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the five
event requirements. This is a very informative documentary involving
women having had abortions and others previously involved in the
