2016 Council Budget Vote 10/27 With
the new fiscal year starting in January, a proposed budget for 2016 was
submitted to the Council at the Sep 22nd Council Business
Meeting. This budget will be voted on at the 10/27 Council
Business Meeting. Please bring previous copies of the budget, if you have one - no revisions have been received/suggested. |
Council Monstrance Vote - UPDATE The
Council vote on incurring up to a $2,000 expenditure for a new
Monstrance for Sacred Heart Church FAILED at the 9/22 Council Business
Meeting. A new motion based on the revised church plans will have
to be made at a Council Business meeting and posted for 30 days before
a vote can be taken on that motion. As was stated on the front page of
the last Sacred Heart Bulletin, the parish is requesting assistance
from the Parish membership for the new Monstrance. Current plan is
to come to the ministries (KofC, ACTS, SSMM) of the parish if
individual contributions do not cover the total cost. Based on
this plan, the Council vote is put on hold and may not be required at
all. |
October Service Opportunities Nativity Work Night -
HELP NEEDED TO FINISH - Check with Brother Larry Stryk
(832-520-4044 or larry.stryk0211@att.net) for dates and times. We will
start selling the Yard Art in November but some sales have already
occurred to people who missed out last year and left their contact info. Tuesday, Oct 27th - Council Business Meeting - 6:45/7:30 PM
- We will be voting on the 2016 Budget for Council 7445 .
If you have a copy of the budget as proposed in September, please bring
it as there has been no changes submitted/requested. Brother George
Boyum is supplying the meal with his home- made Gumbo. Saturday, Oct 31st - Parish Work Day 8:00Am - 12:00 Noon -Have
a few projects around the church grounds that need to be completed to
dress up the church and its surroundings. If you did not sign up
to assist, just show up even for an hour or 2 if you can't make the
entire time - you will be put to work. NOTE THIS IS A PARISH WORK DAY - SO INVITE YOUR NEIGHBORS WHO GO SACRED HEART. Saturday, Oct 31st- KC Turkey Cook Pre-Sales Start -
wiil continue after all Masses until Nov 15th - Pre-Sales Cut-off Nov
17th. Order a Smoked or Fried Turkey or a Smoked Turkey Breast and
support YOUR Council. Sat/Sun Oct 31/Nov 1st Council Monthly BBQ cook prep and cook- Brother Raul Martinez (832-686-6680) should be contacting Cook Team "C" to line up support for this cook. Give him a shout if you are available to assist even if you are not on Team "C" SHARE THE FELLOWSHIP WORK FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNCIL and SACRED HEART Please look at your calendar and please schedule family and/or your time to support the Parish and Council events. Eucharistic Adoration Sacred Heart Chapel Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays
in the Chapel. The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the
Devine Mercy Chaplet. All are invited and any time spent will
offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church,
and the Holy Catholic Church. At the close of the Adoration time,
the Devine Mercy Chaplet is once more recited along with a benediction
that is supported by Fathers Michael and/or Thomas. Please consider
committing to a specific time slot every week. There are
forms at the back of the Church and Chapel to sign up. A
committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration. |
Pro Life Activities Pro-Life Ace Wings -
Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the
five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary
involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in
