Council Monstrance Vote - UPDATE
The Council vote on incurring up to a $2,000 expenditure for a new Monstrance for Sacred Heart Church FAILED at the 9/22 Council Business Meeting.  The Parish has changed the scope and plans for this project without complete disclosure to the Council.  Brother Art will be asking for a new definition from the church staff on the new plans.  These "revised" plans will be shared as soon as they are received in either a News Blast or a weekly Newsletter.  A new motion based on the revised church plans will have to be made at a Council Business meeting and posted for 30 days before a vote can be taken on that motion.

9/26 Adopt a Highway - Update
THANKS for the 5 Knights who participated in the Adopt a Highway Trash pickup on FM 359 on Saturday, 9/26.  With the limited resources it took a little over 2 hours to perform the clean up.  Thanks to Brothers Don Hoeveler, Tony Trevino, Bo Banowsky, DGK David Hobson, and GK Howard Harbes for service to the Council and our community.
Pancake Breakfast Update
Thanks to all the 16 Brother Knights and 1 Knight daughter (Anna Knox) who checked in on Sunday morning to support the Parish Pancake Breakfast in the Family Life Center.  Great participation from Sacred Heart Community for coming out to enjoy the pancakes, sausage, and peaches.   Cooking the Pancakes were Brother Art Hausler on 1st shift and Brother Larry Stryk filling in as Art went to provide music for the 9:30 and 11:15 masses.  Other Brothers supporting this effort were: Tony Trevino, Kevin Knox, Jerry VanCastern, Butch Stoelke, David Hobson, George Boyum, Marty Gibula, Vince Ruiz, Thomas Gorman, Danny Walthall, Andy Oldnixon, Gerry Veazey, and Greg Nemec.  May have gotten assistance from a couple of other brothers, but they did not sign in.
Eucharistic Adoration
Sacred Heart Chapel
Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays in the Chapel.   The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the Devine Mercy Chaplet.  All are invited and any time spent will offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church, and the Holy Catholic Church.  At the close of the Adoration time, the Devine Mercy Chaplet is once more recited along with a benediction that is supported by Fathers Michael and/or Thomas.

Please consider committing to a specific time slot every week.  There are forms at the back of the Church and Chapel to sign up.  A committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration.
VA HOSPITAL VISITATION

Future 2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Oct 4th, November 1st, February 7th, April 3rd, June 19th. These dates may change as we have quite a few conflicts with our 2015-2016 Calendar.  Working with the visitation coordinator

Half a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to protect our freedoms is a small price to pay.  We will leave Sacred Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart parking lot by 12:00noon  or earlier.

Make room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your calendar.   Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for the service to us and our country.

Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood - Last year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights with their families attend and we would like to more than double that this year, but it takes your participation to make this happen.  You do not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2 would be greatly appreciated.  There will be time slot signup after Mass.  Start planning NOW to support.

Pro-Life Ace Wings - Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in the abortion industry who are now Pro-Life.
