Council Vote - Sept 22 Business Meeting
A request was received from Sacred Heart Church this week for assistance in purchasing a new Monstrance for the Church.   This monstrance will be used every Wednesday when Adoration of the Blessed Sacrement is observed in the Chapel from 3:00PM until 10:00PM and on other occasions as needed.

A motion was made by PGK George Boyum and seconded by DGK David Hobson that reads as follows:

Knights of Columbus Council 7445 will contribute up to $2,000 (two thousand dollars) for the purchase of a new Monstrance for Sacred Heart Catholic Church - Richmond.

Discussion will be held on the Sep 22nd Business Meeting before the vote is taken at that Meeting.  Please feel free to come and voice your concerns/opinions.

Funds are available to cover this cost from the profits raised from Sacred Heart Parisioners and it is only right that we use these funds to support Sacred Heart Church needs.

SUCCESFUL PRMC BABY SHOWER - THANKS
THANKS TO ALL WHO SHARED THEIR TIME AND TALENT IN THIS VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENT.  Great support from the parish and Brother Knights this past weekend for the KC/Sacred Heart Baby Shower.  The trailer had lots of "Baby Stuff" donated by parishoners and Brother Knights.  As a Bonus, there was Checks and Cash donated that totaled to $1,605.  WOW that tops the Spring Baby Shower by about $500.   Sincere thanks were received from the folks at PRMC when I delivered the product about noon today, 9/21.  These "Baby Shower Gifts" will go a long way in supporting families with financial and other difficulties in suporting a new addition.
Eucharistic Adoration
Sacred Heart Chapel
Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays in the Chapel.   The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the Devine Mercy Chaplet.  All are invited and any time spent will offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church, and the Holy Catholic Church.  At the close of the Adoration time, the Devine Mercy Chaplet is once more recited along with a benediction that is supported by Fathers Michael and/or Thomas.

Please consider committing to a specific time slot every week.  There are forms at the back of the Church and Chapel to sign up.  A committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration.
VA HOSPITAL VISITATION

Future 2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Oct 4th, November 1st, February 7th, April 3rd, June 19th. These dates may change as we have quite a few conflicts with our 2015-2016 Calendar.  Working with the visitation coordinator

Half a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to protect our freedoms is a small price to pay.  We will leave Sacred Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart parking lot by 12:00noon  or earlier.

Make room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your calendar.   Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for the service to us and our country.

Pro Life Activities
Sun - Oct 4th - Life Chain - 2:00PM - 3:30PM  This is a Nationwide event and we will be supporting 1 of more than 150 Texas sites to participate in this Prayerful Family Friendly event.  There will be sign up after Masses starting Sep 26/27th.  Sign up is not required to support  - all who show up will be welcome and Family Friendly signs will be provided at the event.

Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood - Last year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights with their families attend and we would like to more than double that this year, but it takes your participation to make this happen.  You do not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2 would be greatly appreciated.  There will be time slot signup in the future.  Start planning NOW to support.

Pro-Life Ace Wings - Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in the abortion industry who are now Pro-Life.
