VA Hospital Visit - 6 Sep
Turnout for the visit with Veterans at the VA Hospital in Houston was really light - just the DGK and GK were in attendance with the DGK's father-in-law coming in for Mass at the hospital Chapel.  We were sorely shown up by 13 Brother Knights form Holy Family Parish in Missouri City and 5 Brother Knights from Pasadena.  We were outnumbered by other Councils but we escorted 2 Veterans that we had visited with to Mass.  This is really a rewarding experience and you need to try it at least once.  I will chalk this one up to the late notice.

See below for upcoming dates - that may change due to schedule conflicts.
Eucharistic Adoration
Sacred Heart Chapel
Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays in the Chapel.   The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the Devine Mercy Chaplet.  All are invited and any time spent will offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church, and the Holy Catholic Church.

Please consider committing to a specific time slot every week.  There are forms at the back of the Church and  Chapel to sign up.  A committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration.

VA HOSPITAL VISITATION

Future 2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Oct 4th, November 1st, February 7th, April 3rd, June 19th. These dates may change as we have quite a few conflicts with our 2015-2016 Calendar.  Working with the visitation coordinator

Half a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to protect our freedoms is a small price to pay.  We will leave Sacred Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart parking lot by 12:00noon  or earlier.

Make room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your calendar.   Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for the service to us and our country.

Pro Life Activities
KC/SH Baby Shower for PRMC - September 19/20 - after all Masses this weekend a trailer will be posted outside of Sacred Heart to take donations for Pregnancy Resource Medical Center.  They are in need of the following items for their clients:  Boy and girl 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 12 month clothes; Baby shampoo, powder, and lotion; Boy and girl socks and shoes; boy and girl burping cloths; Ointment; Bottles;and Diaper bags Used furniture and car seats cannot be distributed because of liability concerns.  Cash donations are welcome - make checks payable to PRMC.

Sun - Oct 4th - Life Chain - 2:00PM - 3:30PM  This is a Nationwide event and we will be supporting 1 of more than 150 Texas sites to participate in this Prayerful Family Friendly event.  There will be sign up after Masses starting Sep 19/20 until the day of the event.  Sign up is not required to support  - all who show up will be welcome and Family Friendly signs will be provided at the event.

Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood - Last year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights with their families attend and we would like to more than double that this year, but it takes your participation to make this happen.  You do not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2 would be greatly appreciated.  There will be time slot signup in the future.  Start planning NOW to support.

Pro-Life Ace Wings - Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in the abortion industry who are now Pro-Life.
