June Service Opportunities

Adopt a Highway for 2Q will be on June 20th - due to weather cancellation in May.  We will meet at the Shell Station at the corner of FMs 359 & 723 at 7:30AM.  What a great way to work up an appetite for the June 21st Father's Day meal.  Hope to see you out on the road.

All Things Girl is being held in the CCE Building on June 22nd thru the 26th and the Council June Business Meeting on June 23rd will be held in the FLC Gym.

Installation of Officers has been postponed until July.  With Fr Joe and Fr Greg departing Sacred Heart Church at the end of June, there will be a Farewell Reception after all masses the weekend of June 27th and 28th.  To eliminate any conflict in facilities and picking which event to attend, the Council will have the installation and awards banquet at a time in the future yet to be determined.  Sorry the change of plans

VA HOSPITAL VET Visit - Serve those who have served their country by visiting with the veterans that are hospitalized in the VA Hospital in Houston.   We will meet at Sacred Heart Church at 7:00 AM and carpool in to Houston.   There will be breakfast  at the VA Hospital Cafeteria with visitation with Vets followed by mass at 10:00AM and distribution of the Body of Christ to veterans unable to attend the mass but wishing to receive.  GREAT CHANCE TO SERVE THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM.

Please look at your calendar and please schedule family and/or your time to support the Parish and Council events.

BBQ Support Update
Thanks to all who supported the BBQ cook with labor and purchases.  Meat Prep was performed by Brothers David Hobson and Raul Deleon while Brother Jerry Waite came in to prep the beans and Brother Arthur Hausler cooking the ribs on Saturday afternoon.  Sunday morning cooking was handled by Eddie Rios, Ken Kelley, DGK Raul Deleon, Gerry Veazey, and Chris Haskins.  Great job by these Brothers who started fire building and cooking at about 4:00AM with birds coming off by 7:30 while Brother Hobson cooked the beans with help of Brother Deleon packing for sales.  Assisting with sales and customer interface were Brothers Hobson, Michael Spiech, Butch Stoeltje, and Larry Stryk.
Thanks to all for your support and sharing.
