Last Week's Updates

Motion to spend $1,500 to Spruce up the Trees on the East side of the CCE Building and Parsonage passed at the April 28th Council Business Meeting.  Thanks to all who attended the meeting and supported the vote.   Now you have a chance to support getting the work done.   See the May 11th Service opportunity below.

Thanks to David and April Hobson and all the Brother Knights and wives for supporting Father Greg Mirto's 50 Anniversary Mass/Celebration in the Priesthood on Saturday, May 1. Supporting the Mass was a 4th Degree Turnout of 12 Sir Knights from Assembly 1114.   Supporting Co Commander/Faithful Pilot Kenny Ortiz was Faithful Captain Marty Gibula, PFN Larry Stryk, GK Howard Harbes, David Hobson, Rick Hail. Louis Saucedo, Jim Mensay, Mike Stavinoha, DGK Raul Deleon, Greg Nemec, and Tony Trevino.  Sorry I did not get a list of help for the FLC Reception, but there was a pile of people that made the load on each individual lighter.  For fear of leaving out someone, I will not list any individuals in that group.

THANKS TO ALL - GREAT JOB - YE FAITHFUL SERVANTS.

The support for the BBQ Cook was great as well.  Brothers Larry Stryk and Art Hausler assisted Brother Raul Martinez with the seasoning of the meat and cooking the ribs on Saturday afternoon while Brothers Leonard Moreno, New Knight Gerry Veasey, and Jaime (Bean Man) Hernandez  headed up the cooking crew under Raul Martinez's lead with Don Hoeveler filling in the gaps with me for the 4:00AM Sunday cook.   Lots of help from Brothers Bernie Lednecky, Roy Cedello, Larry Stryk, Mike Spiech, and the GK for the sales after all Sunday masses.  I think I missed a couple of Brother Knights in the sales/clean up crew  and I beg your forgiveness for the oversight.

Great teamwork and thanks to all who get 'er done.

May Service Opportunities

If you are a 1st degree, there will be a 2nd/3rd Degree Exemplification this weekend (May 9th) in Conroe.   Brother Marty Gibula and I plan on going and at this time we have 1 firm commit.  Would like to have 1 or 2 more from the council.  We will leave about 7:00AM (place TBD) on Sat and should be back by 2-3PM.  Great time to advance - give it sincere thought.

On the afternoon of Monday, May 11th at 6:00PM we will have a Council work session for the Parish Tree spruce up  Feel free to show up earlier, I plan to pick up the materials about noon on that day.   After the work is complete a meal will be served for a fellowship session for all workers.  We do need a head count to insure sufficient food is ready, so please give me a call or text to 832-5657-7631 or send an e-mail to hharbes@yahoo.com The more hands, the better - and quicker the job will get completed.
